The new version of Eclipse IDE for Java compiles the entire project for every save. Environment: 1. 3.4.2 (GANYMEDE) version (Build - M20090211-1700) 2. Existing project and workspace 3. Project contains 5000+ java source 4. Project was enabled with all sort of warnings 4. installed 3.5 5. chose the above previous workspace 6. Launched perfectly and recompiled the entire project 7. Edit java one java source and save 8. Recompiled the entire project.(In 3.4.2 version it recompile the only that particular code unless it need to)
Is build automatically turned on or off in the 'Project' menu?
Could you please provide the classpath of that project? Kent, it might be related to the external folder issue again.

Actually can we get the contents of the project's .classpath file please.
This could be a duplicate of bug 280888 Please try the latest 3.6 Stream Integration Build from the downloads page.
Do you still have this problem with 3.5.1 or the latest 3.6M2 build ?
