The org.eclipse.swt.custom.StyledText widget is missing.

Markus, a read-only prototype of StyledText with a demo plugin is available in sandbox. Please note that this prototype has a lot of limitations.

Hi Yury,
we have not decided yet if the prototype of StyledText will be enhanced or not for the next 1.4 version. Give as some time to collect an plan the features for the 1.4. :-)

Just to bring some ideas, there is this nice Eclipse Orion editor http://www.eclipse.org/orion/ . Maybe it could help to have a write StyleText implementation.

We evaluated the Orion editor already. It seems to be an interesting option for a styled text implementation indeed. However, although we would love to do it, we won't find the time for this rather big effort in the foreseeable future :(

In many cases I think that a custom rich text editor based on an existing JavaScript editor would be a feasible alternative...
