There are several plugins in the VTP that do not have correct version numbers and do not utilize the ".qualifier" extension.

The plugins that are targeted by this should be listed, so that once one is fixed, it is known whose shoulder to tap next. Also, describing the algorithm for determining a "correct" version number would be nice. 

The activity now being seen for the VTP hints that some kind of "release" is imminent. But the timing and goals for such a "release" are less than well-understood.
