This may be a hidden feature, but I find it really annoying. ever since I moved to M3, when ever I delete a line using CTRL E, the line is inserted to the clipboard, overriding whatever was in there. I did not find a way to turn it off. if its a bug, please fix it. if its a feature, please add a ui to turn it off.
This is a usability issue that should be easy to fix. Most other text editing applications in the market associate CTRL-E to Delete Line. Delete Line, however is NOT the same as CUT or CTR-X. Delete Line should not put the deleted contents into the clipboard. Please give some raise the the priority of this bug so it can be fixed. Again it should be pretty easy to correct.... Thanks in advance.
We will not change this behavior.
This sucks. at least put an alternative.
a small search in the database shown that this bug has been reported several times. bug 26783 and 30244 are the same one. I believe people are upset by thie behavior. what kind of editor is it, that does not support simple line deletion? I insist that this will be fixed in the future. This is a trivial fix.
Indeed, "we the people" are a little upset about this behavior, which by the way was fine up to 2.0.1 (and even 2.0.2 I believe.) This has been changed just recently (maybe since M3, I am not completely sure, though). Now that a WAY COOL key binding facility is in place, users could be given the option to map CTRL-E to what they prefer IF ONLY "Delete Line" is changed to not copy to the clipboard. A new name like "Delete Line w/ Copy" could differentiate between the two options. Thanks again in advance for considering making this change to an already AMAZING IDE. :-)
