The JDT weaving plugin is generic functionality which can be used by other Java-compatible language plugins than AJDT, in particular Scala.

To allow these plugins to coexist comfortably it would be helpful if the JDT weaving functionality could be packaged as an independent feature which can be depended on by the language plugins.

I will probably be looking into this next week.  Working on some other build script changes first.  Moving Equinox Aspects into the main AJDT update site.  I think this will help you, too.

The 34 dev update site has been reorganized and the Eclipse Weaving Service (aka the JDT Weaving feature) is now available as a standalone feature.
