'"Ruby" are short runs of text alongside the base text, typically used in East Asian documents to indicate pronunciation or to provide a short annotation.'

See bug 262293 for its initial mention, and http://www.w3.org/TR/ruby/ for the full specification.  This is an enhancement request to allow and support Ruby tags within HTML and as part of any future XHTML support.
