Build ID: M20080911-1700 Steps To Reproduce: 1. Start with at least two directories "xxx" and "yyy" in the workspace directory. 2. Invoke the Create a Java Project command/action. 3. Select "Create project from existing source". 4. Navigate to directory xxx. 5. Enter "Yyy" as the project name (that is, a differently capitalized version of "yyy"). 6. Notice how Eclipse says "The name of the new project must be 'yyy'". That is, with "Yyy" in the project name field, Eclipse insists that the project name must be "yyy", even though that's not true. More information: This is on Windows (XP). (I assume the bug happens only case- insensitive file systems.)
Build id: I20090916-1800 Moreover I noticed that if we choose the 'xxx' folder as a location for Java project (as in step 4) and use 'yyy' as a project name, the project will be created in the 'yyy' folder.
>Moreover I noticed that if we choose the 'xxx' folder as a location for Java >project (as in step 4) and use 'yyy' as a project name, >the project will be created in the 'yyy' folder. That's as designed: it takes the source from the location 'xxx' and creates a project 'yyy' with it.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
