Description Andrew Niefer CLA 2008-10-01 16:05:08 EDT
Currently pde.build contains a property file org.eclipse.pde.build/data/env.properties which maps Execution environments to source and target levels for the java compiler.

We should support ready these source/target levels directly out of the .profile file.
Comment 1 Darin Wright CLA 2008-11-10 11:56:51 EST
Andrew, is this doable in 3.5 using the compliance settings from the associated .profile file, when an BREE is specified?
Comment 2 Andrew Niefer CLA 2008-11-10 13:28:40 EST
The profile is already being consulted for source/target levels.
Renaming this to be about compliance levels, which we do not support yet. Not sure if this will be in 3.5

Changing Version tag to something more believable. Note that this is not a statement about when the enhancement request will be addressed (the Target Milestone field is used for that); the Version tag should be set to the version of Eclipse you were using when you saw the need for the enhancement.

Currently we are not actively enhancing PDE build anymore. Therefore, I close this bug as WONTFIX.

Please reopen, if you plan to provide a fix.
