1)Open the Available Software tab in Software Updates...
2)Begin typing filter text in the textbox

I am experiencing about a 5 second delay from the time I type my first letter until the filtered results are shown.  Additionally, unlike most filter boxes in eclipse, the UI is locked for this period of time, preventing me from typing in the complete filter without waiting on about 3 seperate occasions

We intend to replace the filtering mechanism used in this UI, as the standard platform filtering support does not support async retrieval of the repo info.  We had to make some unfortunate UI tradeoffs in 3.4 in order to get it working.
