Woosh!!! Ecoretools shines!! Simon, I think that we will integrate your patch very soon!
I think that we will add an option in the appearance page of the Ecoretools diagram preferences...something like "make it shine?"
Comment 3 Simon Bernard CLA 2008-06-03 09:17:40 EDT
I will think about a solution like this!
This option could activate/deactivate "fill gradient", "shadow Border" and "alpha feedback" !

patch for sexy UI

Here is the patch to make EcoreTools mare sexy !
He doesn't contain the option in diagram preferences which could activate/deactive that.

Hi Team,

Heads up that the GMF Runtime is interested in getting these sorts of features into the next GMF release 2.2). These would be styles similar to line color and width already in GMF.

Note that GMF already has a drop shadow support, but I know we do not have any examples of it.
Comment 6 Simon Bernard CLA 2008-07-16 07:56:15 EDT
Hi Anthony,
Have you already began to work on that ?
We could implement this feature for ecoreTools keeping in mind that this would be integrated in GMF and then we could propose to you a patch for the "GMF runtime".

For drop shadow support, I try the GMF RectangularDropShadowLineBorder but it is limited to rectangular Figure, so I create AlphaDropShadowBorder which implements your DropShadowBorder interface and manages polygon.

patch reviewed and using preferences

I have added two preferences in the Appearance page of the Ecore Tools diagram section :
- one preference used to activate/deactivate shadow borders
- one preference used to activate/deactivate gradients when figures are filled
A change on these preferences are reflected only when reopening the editor.
