I realize this is probably not something fixable for Ganymede, but I feel it should be said ;) The fact that the default persistence.xml editor in Eclipse only works if the project is of a specifc type (the editor does not work in plain Java project) and it also seem to be quirky if the persistence.xml is in a non-standard location is in my opinion very problematic. The editor should still work, it might just know everything there is to know about the existing project but you do not need that for providing the form based ui editor.
It would be nice if this was supported. Given that this would require a significant amount of work, I am leaving this untargeted for now, and tagged as helpwanted.
