The getPathTarget method of the Utils class uses an internal API that has disappeared in the latest 3.4M6+ milestone.  This method needs to be rewritten to avoid the internal API.

The implementation of this method has been changed to work with latest 3.4M6.  It doesn't account for quite as many cases, but the cases that are not covered should not be relevant.
