Description Anthony Hunter CLA 2008-04-18 17:29:06 EDT
Create a geometric shape.
The text in the geometric shape does into direct edit mode.

As soon as you hit the first character, you are taken out of edit mode. You have to F2 or similar to be able to enter the rest of the string.

This regression was introduced sometime after GMF 2.1 M4.

Bug 198464 gives a clue to what the issue must be. The issue does not occur with WrappingLabel, so the text compartment must be creating an old WrapLabel rather than the new WrappingLabel.

I ran this on RHEL5, created a new geoshape, it went into direct edit mode, and when I typed the first character the direct edit box collapsed to fit the one character, but it didn't exit edit mode, I could continue to type.

Is there something someone's done differently that might help me reproduce the problem?

I can duplicate this issue on both of my Red Hat Linux workstations.

% cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS release 4 (Nahant Update 5)

% cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Client release 5.1 (Tikanga)

I cannot understand why nobody has complained about this, not even our own test team complained. This must be an issue with my two test machines. Assigning to myself for now.
