Created attachment 93961 [details] jvm crash dump While compiling java code, jvm crashes with SIGSEGV at CompilerThread1. This happens with sun jdk 1.6.0_05, 1.6.0_04, but works OK up to 1.6.0_05, 1.6.0_03, and in 1.5 jdks. Crash is in phtread code. Tested against glibc 2.6.1 and 2.7. It only happens while compiling.
It looks like you have other plugins than the Eclipse SDK ones. Can you reproduce with an Eclipse fresh install?
Yes. I made fresh install of eclipse-java-europa-winter-linux-gtk.tar.gz. Precisely the same happened. This helped around the problem: http://blog.gleamynode.net/2008/03/workarounds-for-eclipse-crash-with-jdk.html
Smells like a VM bug.
(In reply to comment #3) > Smells like a VM bug. > I tried to find something similar upstreams, without success. Are you going to pass it on or should I?
Please report the problem to the VM vendor. Closing as INVALID.
Please see bug 214092 for more information, it is a VM bug.
