since "something()" is the receiver, formatter expects dot inbetween, parser should 
set some kind of flag to indicate receiver is chained call vs call returning function

Tentatively targeting for 3.1M7.  Chris any possibility of adding a Unit test for this as well?

This fix can go into the 3.0.5 and 3.1 streams.
