Description Dimitar Giormov CLA 2008-02-18 06:24:18 EST
Build ID: I20071213-1700

Steps To Reproduce:
In order to add jsp to web.xml now you have to create the jsp, choose new servlet, choose use existing, on the browse dialog there are two really unnoticeable radio buttons (servlet/jsp) choosing jsp will register the jsp in the deployment descriptor.

One way is to add a combo on jsp creation, which will allow directly to register the jsp.
Another way is to use a context menu for the same operation.

We may not have time to implement either of these suggestions in 3.0.

There is another bug (I would have to search for the number) that wants to make the "two really unnoticeable radio buttons" more noticeable.

I think having a normal border between the radio buttons and the edge of the dialog would help, although there's also the question of how much of this web.xml-related function should just also be in the New JSP wizard.

I think that from usability point of view the option should be present in jsp wizard.
About the radio buttons separation, personally when I see the dialog I think about classes. In my opinion it is also possible to be restructured.

I suggest as first step to commit the patch in bug 200433. It's a small change, but would have a positive effect. I see there is already agreement in the bug to have it 3.0.

Moving these enhancements to 301 for now
Comment 6 Kaloyan Raev CLA 2008-07-31 10:31:56 EDT
Bringing to the 3.1 plan.
There are two related bugs: bug 238770 and bug 238771.
