Description David Dykstal CLA 2008-02-15 15:37:50 EST
Start an eclipse with just the standard RSE features (Core, Dstore, FTP, SSH). Create a new connection, select Linux, get an NPE. Subsequent creations of a Linux connection are OK so the workaround is straightforward. A stack trace shows that this is related to a null adapter being returned by an adapter factory for the dstore process subsystem. I am investigating. This may be related to the IServiceSubSystem refactoring.

This might be a timing issue, and a duplicate of bug 218304.
Actually, it is most likely a dup. See my comments there.
I'd recommend not investing too much time here for M5 since it is not critical.

I agree. The problem is intermittent and the symptoms are what you describe. Let's leave this open so that we will test this particular case when we have a solution to bug 218304.

I actually prefer marking this as dupliate right away if we agree it's a duplicate of bug 218304. I'm sure we won't forget verifying this on the Mac.
