Description Antonio D'souza CLA 2002-07-11 13:19:04 EDT
Note: My J9 is not finding its class libs & is therefore unable to start the
workbench. I'm not sure if this is triggering the problem or not.
Comment 1 Darin Wright CLA 2002-07-29 09:36:39 EDT
More information is required. How is your J9 set up? I.e. what is the home
directory? are default libraries used? etc.
Comment 2 Antonio D'souza CLA 2002-08-07 11:11:11 EDT
Cannot reproduce.
Comment 3 Antonio D'souza CLA 2002-08-08 14:59:06 EDT
OK, I can now replace this under IBM's JRE. I start up a junit suite but stop
the tests before the suite is done. The stack cannot be cleared from the Debug
view after this.
Comment 4 Darin Wright CLA 2002-08-12 15:15:20 EDT
Need explicit steps. What do you mean by "stop" (i.e. terminate, or suspend?).
What do you mean by "cleared"?
Comment 5 Antonio D'souza CLA 2002-08-12 15:23:34 EDT
By 'stop' I mean terminate & by 'clear' I refer to the expected functionality of
hitting the fifth button from the left on the Debug view's titlebar.
Comment 6 Darin Wright CLA 2002-08-12 15:33:21 EDT
Can you provide a sceen shot of a terminated VM that cannot be cleared? It
sounds like it is not terminating properly.

Comment 8 Darin Wright CLA 2002-08-12 15:52:41 EDT
This could be related to a known Linux VM bug. When a thread is suspended on
Linux (IBM VM), the VM does not termiante properly. See bug# 1631.

Does "terminate & remove" work?
Comment 9 Antonio D'souza CLA 2002-08-12 16:17:44 EDT
I think you are correct about the dep on bug 1631 and yes, Terminate & Remove
works like a charm.
Comment 10 Darin Wright CLA 2002-08-12 16:26:11 EDT
Marking as dup.
