Since upgrading from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 (I don't think I ever saw this dialog before this version), about two thirds of the time that I save a file that I opened with the RSE for local editing, it says there is a "Save Conflict" and asks if I want to overwrite the remote file, write the file to a new location, or discard the local changes. As suggested in the thread I opened in the DSDP TM newsgroup ( http://www.eclipse.org/newsportal/article.php?id=276&group=eclipse.dsdp.tm#276 ), I checked the file modification time with an "ls -l" against the time shown by right clicking the file in the RSE and checking it's properties. They are the same, regardless of whether it is telling me there is a save conflict or not. I'm using version 3.3.1.1 of Eclipse if that is of any value.
Jason says: I'm using the RSE itself to browse a Linux system with FTP for a file, and then double-clicking it to edit it remotely. This might be FTP specific, could it be insufficient accuracy of the timestamp? Or different time zone on the server?
This could probably be closed. Haven't experienced this behavior in a long time, though I can't say what fixed it :)
