Description Alexander Nyßen CLA 2007-11-15 11:07:36 EST
I think, most of the classes provided in the runtime.draw2d and runtime.gef packages would be nice to have for all GEF developers as well (for example, something like the LineSeg class is very useful to have, even if not building a GMF editor).

As both projects are located under the overall Eclipse project umbrella, has it been discussed to hand over the non-GMF specific things located in those packages to the GEF project, where this is applicable (e.g. in case of such simple geometry classes like LineSeg) to make GEF-developers life a bit more easy (they would not have to include the whole gmf runtime with their batik references, etc)?

If this is not feasable due to organizational constraints, I would issue the request of having them bundled separately as a sub-feature of the gmf runtime, to be able to reuse them separately of the other gmf runtime?
