Description Carsten Mjartan CLA 2007-10-04 04:37:43 EDT
Working on Web Projects, the java files I often work with are all nicely grouped together on top of my project (and under "Java Resources" in project explorer), regardless of where the java root folders are physically in my project folder hierarchy.

It would by nice to have the same virtual shortcuts for web context root folders, for example by grouping them together as "Web Resources".

The linked folder feature is not really an alternative, as you see all resources double.

There was some discussion around this in another ticket (bug 297960). It turned out that m2eclipse-plugin already supports this, by providing the suggested Web Resources -shortcut (see attachment).

I would agree that this feature should be provided directly by WTP.

I raise the priority to P2 - just to reflect the high interest in this enhancement. This is definitely something that we should address in the future.

I doubt we (the committers) will find time to work on this for Helios - there is only one milestone left for development of new features. But if we get any external help (patches) we can retarget the enhancement of Helios.
