Before we start doing work to refactor everything, lets make sure everyone is in agreement with where everything should be :)

If the Log View is moved from pde.runtime, I can see PDE Spy taking up home in pde.runtime.

I would like to see this as a Plug-in so I can use it in Eclipe 3.3.  I already have a build from the the first version in the incubator CVS location, but the latest would be nice.

Don't want to wait for Eclipse 3.4 to have this!

With the log view becoming its own plugin, using org.eclipse.pde.runtime as the home for development runtime tooling (including PDE Spy) makes sense.  

Phillip, don't fret.  You should be able to back port org.eclipse.pde.runtime from 3.4M2 into 3.3.  Currently, everything should work just fine in 3.3.
