As well as being externalized, all strings and icons in the user-interface should be made part of the enablement framework so that DTP adopters can replace the default strings and icons with their own.
Wherever it is appropriate and feasible, the UI should be made extensible so that DTP adopters can enable it for their own database specific requirements.
