Description Simon Archer CLA 2007-08-27 10:32:13 EDT
When adding documentation to a .exsd file it is necessary to add <br> tags to create hard line breaks where you wish paragraphs to appear. Unfortunately, you cannot use <br/>, since it results in the following warning:

Tag 'br' must not contain a terminating '/'

Of course, using <br/> does work as expected when you preview the documentation, so this seems to be just the editor/builder being over fussy.

Simon the PDE slayer is back :D

The validation does seem to be too strict.
Adam, can you take a look and see if we can remove this warning (without any adverse consequences)?
Comment 3 Simon Archer CLA 2007-08-27 10:58:06 EDT
Oh Chris, I like to think of it as more like nurturing. And it is certainly not only that PDE that feels the love. It is just that I have been documenting a bunch of .exsd files lately. :-)

patch

The validator will no longer flag this error on the "br" tag.

In addition, added "br" to the list of tags which will not result in a warning if they are never terminated (no end tag).

This is the best patch ever. At least for reviewing purposes ;) . Thanks Adam.

PDE aims to please to Simon, you should send Adam a thanks award. We like to shower him with gifts ;)

Yes, I've recognized the good folks on the PDE team this way in the past. Last year was the first year we could include our Canadian friends in the corporate back-patting. And now that we each have 12 awards to give it is even easier. ;-)
