Just as an EMF editor failure ask the user to open the model in text editor, EMF compare should provide a way to open the default comparison editor.

The duplicates are not really duplicates; there are two separate requirements:

a) If the compare fails, fall back to a conventional mode as EMF editors do.

b) Provide a Compare With-> menu (just like Open With->) in which EMFT Compare provides an additional perhaps default capability, rather than an imposed replacement capability.

Comparison failures will now provide a way for users to fall back to default comparison. As for b) in comment #4, this cannot be handled due to eclipse compare limitations : everything must be done through content-types (thus replacing the compare with => each other functionality) or some of the functionalities won't be present (compare with history for example).

The fix will be available in the next build, providing a way to compare as text when the comparison does _not_ fail is intended in the scope of bug #242219 .
