Steps To Reproduce:
1. Open IRC Connection Wizard
2. Use as Connection ID: "foobar@irc.freenode.net" or "foobar@irc.freenode.net/"
3. In Error Log View, you will see "Unhandled event loop exception" errors

Thanks Abner for this report and the patch.  I've examined/applied the patch and committed to HEAD.

I'll resolve the bug after I have a chance to add the appropriate info to the IP log (which I haven't done yet).
