If you rename a folder that is expanded the selection changes to the parent.  I have seen this on Local, ssh, and dstore.  I don't see it on ftp because it is blocked right now by an error trying to rename the folder which is being discussed in bug 173518.

Steps to Reproduce:
Expand some folder that is not directly under a filter.
Rename the folder.
The selection changes to the parent.
