The deletion of files from the package explorer is done in the foreground which is pretty annoying.
Steps to reproduce:
- create a project
- copy your eclipse install in the folder
- select all the content you just copied and delete

All refactoring change executions happen in the UI thread, see bug 175733 for an explanation.
