Description Eric Norman CLA 2007-05-02 18:51:48 EDT
Setting the CSS style "float:[left|right]" does not change the layout of the page in design mode.

Expected: Adjacent floated blocks should render on the same line if there is enough space.

Simple test page is attached that demonstrates the problem. Preview mode of the same test page shows the correct layout of the floated blocks.

Review for 2.0

CSS floating is a complicated area to simulate. Unless this is a high priority issue, I don't think we will have time in this release.

Deferring to 3.0. If you can provide a patch before RC2 I will try to apply, otherwise this is to big of a piece of work in a piece of code I don't understand well enough to tackle on 2.0 timeline.

Deferred due to lack of resources. Contributions from the community would be welcomed.

Is there any fix for this problem?

No. The 'Target Milestone' will get set to the version where it will get fixed when there is a fix. Also, the helpwanted keyword is an indicator that we are looking for community help, since we don't currently have the resources to address it at this time.

Sorry, we have not fixed this.

We would be happy to receive any contribution from the community to address
this issue in the first maintenance releases for Galileo.
