Description Jerome Lanneluc CLA 2007-03-16 07:04:54 EDT

1. Have a plugin project in your workspace
2. Open Java Build Path
3. Select Library tab
4. Expand the JRE System Library, then rt.jar
5. Select Source Attachment
Observe: the Edit button is enable
6. Expand Plug-in Dependencies, then a plugin jar
7. Select Source Attachment
Observe: the Edit buttion is disabled without any explanation

I suggest to use the status message introduced in bug 168077 and display it either as a tooltip of Edit button, or at the top of the wizard (where build path errors are also shown), or wherever you find it's suitable.

Its not easy to show this information. We would have to add an extra description field to the wizard.

Also not, the plug-In class path container doesn't use the new APIs that return status.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
