Description Davor Cubranic CLA 2007-01-04 14:25:40 EST
Build ID: M20060629-1905

Steps To Reproduce:
1. create a field with a generic type, say "HashMap<Integer, String> foo"
2. initialize the field by assigning a constructor: "foo = new HashMap<Integer, String>()"
3. change the type parameter of the field: "Map<Integer, StringBuffer> foo"
4. the assignment from step 2 is incorrect now. Quick fix suggests changing the type of foo.

It would be nice (and the right action in this example) if there were a quick fix to change the type parameter of the constructor in the assignment's RHS: "foo = new HashMap<Integer, StringBuffer>()"

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
