The current Run, Debug and External Tools display a single menu of all of the items. For large workspaces with many projects it can be difficult to find the item to run from the list. What would be useful is to allow the user to select to have the menus split up by project. The way this could be done is that all "shared" launch configurations defined in a projects directory would be displayed in a sub menu with the project as a title. Any "local" launch configurations would either be displayed in a "local" sub menu or just at the top level. Cheers, Paul
I agree this would be incredibly useful. When you have half a dozen projects open (say one for each version of your product) and all your Run/Debug entries are replicated half a dozen times each, it becomes a real pain to find the right one. If they were organized per-project, and you could collapse the projects, then it would be simple to arrange them in an easy-to-find fasion.
no time/resources to address this in the remainder of 3.3, marking for later.
Re-open to mark as works for me.
Since 3.4, launch configrations can be found in the "Properties..." for each project. Only configurations assocaited with the selected project appear in the "Run/Debug Settings" property page for each project. From there you can edit/create new ones, etc. However, what we still need is "Run/Debug" buttons to launch configs from the properties page (so, it's not quite "works for me").
