Description Michael Scharf CLA 2006-10-07 01:11:53 EDT
Both views do essentially the same. The only difference is the the Remote Monitor can poll for updates automatically and the Remote System Details can be locked.

And a few menu entries of the Remote System Details are missing in the Remote Monitor.

The unlocking of the Remote System Details could be one special monitor (well a good UI idea is needed here)

Else I see no reason why the two views are separate.

Yeah, I think we should ultimately get rid of the remote system details view, bringing whatever features make sense to the monitor view.
Comment 2 Martin Oberhuber CLA 2006-10-26 16:04:34 EDT
This needs to be discussed. There are more differences between the Monitor and the Details view, e.g. single-instance vs. multiple-instance.

Deferring to after 1.0

I think we should get rid of the Remote Systems Details view (in favour of the Monitor view) before we complete RSE 2.0. Any thoughts on this?

With all the bugs I've been opening on Remote System Details View it would be a good idea to decide on whether or not the Remote System Details View is going to stay or be removed.

Martin, do you think it's too late in the cycle to address this one?
Comment 6 Martin Oberhuber CLA 2007-05-30 13:54:52 EDT
We've mostly been testing the Tableview and not so much the Monitor lately.
I'd rather keep it as is for 2.0.
I think we've got more urgent stuff to get done.
