I'm brand new to Eclipse. I downloaded the latest version, installed it under Windows 2000, and am developing a simple application with one class. Randomly after I build the class using Build All or Build Project (haven't figured out the difference between those 2) and then try to run it, I get a dialog window stating "The user operation is waiting for background work to complete". This dialog often sits there for several minutes. Cancelling it and selecting run again does no good. The only thing that works is to shut down Eclipse and restart it. Then it will be good for a compile and run or two before this happens again. This long wait is slowing my development to a crawl.
Could you please provide a thread dump when you get the dialog? Ctrl + Break in the console. You need to start eclipse with the -consolelog option on the command line. Please reopen when a thread dump is provided.
As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported. Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
