The batch compiler help message says that -X<option> is ignored, but talks about a -Xemacs option a few lines below. 

Moreover, that option only affects the standard output and regular log file (not the xml output of xml log files), which is not documented. (Note: in case an xml log file is in use but the console is active, the -Xemacs option modifies the contents of the console - hence -log file.xml and -Xemacs are still compatible.)

There was a typo in message.properties, I've fixed and released it + corresponding change in BatchCompilerTests#test012()
