Description Lars Høidahl CLA 2006-04-19 09:41:28 EDT
I upgraded from 3.2 M5 to 3.2 RC1 and now code completion does not work at all. The status line shows a red text "No completions available". This happens even in extremely simple code like "StringBuffer buf = new StringBuffer(); buf.ap[CTRL-SPACE]"

I hade the same problem when trying to upgrade to M6.

It seems to work if I create a new workspace.
Comment 2 Martin Aeschlimann CLA 2006-04-19 10:08:17 EDT
We would need a reproducible example here. We're always using the latest versions and a broken code assist would be detected very quickly.
Comment 3 Alexander Rupsch CLA 2006-05-24 04:28:19 EDT
The same for me with RC5. Maybe you should try to take a workspace which is created by 3.1. If I take my old 3.1 workspace, code completion is broken for me too. However, if I copy the projects into a new workspace it seems to work.

Is there a way to clean up a workspace?

I think you had Mylar installed before and now no longer. Is that the case?

Go to Window > Preferences > Java > Editor > Content Assist > Advanced
and click "Restore Defaults".
Comment 5 Lars Høidahl CLA 2006-05-24 04:47:11 EDT
That is correct. I had Mylar before and not now.

And "Restore Defaults" fixed the problem, so now everything works again.

Thanks!!!

As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
