1. New workspace on 1.4.2 JRE
2. Preferences > Java > Compiler > Building > Build path problems > Incompatible required binaries > Error
3. New Java Project
Observe: The project cannot be built because project is targeting a 1.2 runtime but compiled against a 1.4.2 JRE

Defaults are matching javac expectation. 
Unfortunately, understanding these issues require advanced knowledge of major/minor version, which is hard to leverage.

We could look at improving this later.
