Description Robert CLA 2006-03-27 14:16:27 EST
While type a method name, if I stop for a brief period of time the method name will highlight (be selected) and when I start typing again the method name is overwritten. This is happening the the JAVA and J2EE perspectives.

'Link with Editor' is selected
Comment 5 David Williams CLA 2006-03-27 14:36:47 EST
And, this is with the Java editor, I assume? Not the JSP editor?

Comment 6 Robert CLA 2006-03-27 14:37:32 EST
Yes with the Java editor.

Is it highlighted (i.e. mark occurrences - yellow in older and gray in newer Eclipse versions) or is it selected (normally blue color) - that's not the same.

Anything in .log?
Comment 8 Robert CLA 2006-03-27 15:12:11 EST
selected with blue color. I'm not using the mark occurrences feature.

Do you also see this when using plain M20060118-1600 without additional plug-ins?
Comment 10 Robert CLA 2006-03-27 15:16:58 EST
I dowloaded the wtp-all-in-one-sdk-R-1.0.1-200602171228-win32.zip. I don't know if it occurs with out additional plug-ins.

Please give this: http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.1.2-200601181600/index.php

a try. We cannot reproduce this here on a plain Eclipse SDK.
Comment 12 Robert CLA 2006-03-27 16:11:58 EST
When I start Eclipse in the JAVA perspective it work fine. When I switch to the J2EE perspective the bug appears. When I start in the J2EE perspective the bug appears right off.

The plain Eclipse SDK did have the J2EE Persepctive. So I guess it may have something to do with WTP 1.0.1 because it did appear in WTP.07???
Comment 13 Robert CLA 2006-03-27 16:33:04 EST
Also... when in the J2EE Perspective I have to right click on the method name and select the 'open' menu option as the single and double click open modes won't open the file. Once it is open I can click on the method name and it will move the cursor to the desired method.

>The plain Eclipse SDK did have the J2EE Persepctive.
No it does not. The J2EE perspective comes with WTP.

David any idea here. This looks like a WTP issue.
