GNU Global (http://www.gnu.org/software/global/global.html) is a source code tag system that finds not only declarations (like CTags) but also *references*. This would be a very useful addition to the CDT tooling in cross-development situations where compiling locally isn't an option.

We've been using Global locally on our C code (outside CDT) and it seems fast and accurate. Is there a possibility of getting GNU Global support added to CDT?

I've had this request from a few people.

Nobody is currently looking at this, so if the community would like to see this happen someone will have to volunteer.
