Build: I20060105 1) Checkout org.eclipse.core.filesystem from CVS 2) Observe the schema file has a reference to org.eclipse.core.filesystem.provider.FileSystem. 3) Rename FileSystem -> The schema file is not updated. References to Java types are updated in plugin.xml, so it seems they should also be updated in the schema.
now you're getting spoiled ;-)
Yep, once you get us hooked on tooling that automatically knows to fix itself up, we forget how to manually update references without screwing it up (bug 123149).

Would probably first need a search facility (bug 206885).
Need an IEditingModel version of the schema model to easily provide the corresponding TextChanges to allow the refactoring framework to work. Though this is a difficult problem since we currently don't know who else includes a certain schema. Markus might be on to something for trying to figure this out with comment #4
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
