The XML and DTD editors have this capability, sure would be *nice* in the XSD editor. See preference: Web and XML/Task Tags and then select "Filters" tab. XSD is not a choice.
I should have validated this more, I see that it does work but there is no preference (and my TODO markers were withing <documentation> tags) It would also be VERY useful to have Task Tags to be valid in <annotation><documentation>TODO in doc</documention></annotation>
XSD isn't directly a choice because it's governed by the XML filter checkbox. Selecting XML in the list will show you all of the content types that it enables and disables as well.
As Nitin suggests this should already work in general using the 'XML' task tag feature. See the preference page for 'Web and XML' and there's a task tag category. However it seems that task tags that aren't in xml comments aren't being detected. So the pattern Steve wants to use doesn't work. I'm going to reassing this bug to the xml component.
This is a great idea, but we don't have people to work on this just now. We would accept high quality patches, though.
Task tags work in XSD files in WTP 3.2, and they are detected in XML style comments in XSD files (at the time of comment #3 this was not true). Is there any other work to be done here?
