It may seem obvious to us, but I have witnessed a couple of people confused by our login page. Typically first user experience:

- Redirected to login page. See user/password, and a row of buttons at the bottom
- Hmm, Google, that sounds good, I'll try that
- Redirected to enter Google credentials
- After entering Google credentials, you get an error:

"Your authentication was successful but you are not authorized to access Orion. Contact administrator to create an Orion account."

Huh? I already have an Orion account! What does this mean?

I think one small thing we could do here is offer a link to the help page that tell you more (for example that you have to first connect your Orion account to the external Google/Yahoo/etc account before you can login that way). Towards that end I have started writing a page:

I think that error message could also be tweaked. How about:

"Your authentication was successful, but that account is not associated with any Orion profile. External accounts can be added on your profile page after login."
