When selecting two Objects in the "Open Resource"-Dialog it should be possible to open them together in die "Compare With Each Other"-Editor. Especially if you have two compare java files from two different cvs branches with thousands of files it would be a great help.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the "Open Resource"-Dialog
2. Select two files that you want to compare
3. No options for editor type

Correct me if I'm wrong but this would work only if you want compare files with similar names eg. ending with "*ContentProvider". If so, using that dialog to select and compare any files would be cumbersome. I think the dialog added in bug 73923 is a better option. It still need some polishing though (blockers of bug 264498).

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
