Currently the OpenType dialog always shows all of the subtypes of any types passed to it, this might not be what is desired if a very specific scope is supplied.

There should be some way to indicate that subtypes should (or should not) be calculated for the supplied scope.

There's currently no way to specify that scope should not enclose sub-types. As it would be a major breakage to add this kind of functionality on IJavaSearchScope, we will not address this request until a real strong need has been identified.

See also bug 167638 which was the origin of the request but was finally fixed without any extra functionality on IJavaSearchScope...
