Well, it is a chatting tool, tightly integrated with Github.

Nothing that we have used for ESH so far, so it is not any official communication channel.

I am also not sure if it is an option for Eclipse projects, since all discussion and content would not be within reach of the Eclipse Foundation (wrt consistency, recovery, backup, etc.).
