Re: [science-iwg] Eclipse Science @ EclipseCon France June 19-22

Hi Torkild,

that sounds good. I look forward to seeing you and other people at the conference :-) and especially talk about our Science projects.

Best,
Philip

Hi all,

I’m planning to spend some of my good-husband—bonus-points and fly in early (on Friday) to enjoy the weekend in Toulouse. Hoping to do a little bit of work on pet projects, but also sightseeing & dining. Let me know if you’d like to meet up. My Toulousian colleague suggested I should try “aligot" with local sausage, I think I will also go for duck “casoullet" (again).

With regards to the Science Unconference January workshop. Do you plan to use the whole day? I was thinking it would be a good idea to spend a little time discussing the working group and the top level project in general. Are we moving in the right direction? What is working and what is not? I’m bringing this up since only a few of us will be at the San Jose event (Eclipse Converge) and ECF may be this year’s chance to meet most of you. I do not know yet if there will be a day available at ECE.

That said, I’m really looking forward to the conference, and especially visiting the Airbus site. Good job putting that together Alain!

Best regards,
Torkild

Hi all,

I have taken on the role of Program Chair for EclipseCon France this year and wanted to highlight all the Science-related events that will be taking place.

In chronological order:

1. Airbus site meeting - a Science Working Group face-to-face meeting at Airbus' offices on Monday 19th organised by Alain Bernard.

2. Science Unconference - Tuesday 20th - plans are underway to have a workshop session on the Eclipse January project in addition to the usual unconference meetings.

3. EclipseCon France - Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd. This year the conference features a brand new track that should be of interest to many here: 'Data Analytics & Data Science'. In addition there is the standard 'Eclipse Technologies' track for your RCP, Osgi & other talks. See the call for papers: https://www.eclipsecon.org/france2017/cfp

So it will be a busy and eventful Science-ful week, so do please start making plans to join us for some or all of it if you can!

Tracy
