Re: [science-iwg] Science TLP

Webmaster asked the question, so I just relayed it. I’m happy with public myself.

Thanks!

Greg,

AFAIK, PMC lists are open, open membership, and archived.  I would expect that would be the default.

Some updates on the TLP:

- I’ve asked for a science-pmc mailing list to be set up.
- I’ve asked for eclipse.org/science to be redirected to science.eclipse.org

We have a choice of public or private for the mailing list, and can also have rules about who can subscribe. I will assume public, but let me know if you think it should be otherwise.

I’d like to arrange the first meeting of the Science PMC. I’m out next week and the following week is Thanksgiving in the US, so I’d suggest we shoot for the week after Thanksgiving or the first week in December. Morning seems to work best given the timezone differences. I’ve set up a doodle poll to see if we can find a day that works for most people [1].

Current PMC members are:

Greg Watson
Chris Brooks
Erwin De Ley
Jay Billings
Jonah Graham
Matthew Gerring
Peter Chang
Philip Wenig
Stephan Wahlbrink
Tobias Verbeke
Torkild Resheim

Some topics that would be good to address at this meeting include:

- Role of the PMC
- Creation of standards/guidelines
- Project support
- Project status and creation/release progress

If you have other suggestions, please let me know.

Regards,
Greg
