Re: [science-iwg] Interested in helping support Texclipse?

Because this question came up in other groups and lists, could any Committer Members even help Texclipse if it was proposed and accepted under Science (as it seems OK for "Technology", "Tools" or other areas) or could only those member companies and their employees contribute to it that are at least Solutions Members and joined under http://science.eclipse.org/members-list ?

The question also touches the possibility of e.g. STEM moving under the Science TLP.
While IBM is already in the steering committee, others who actively contribute to it are no Science members, so would they no longer be able to commit if STEM or other projects in question moved under Science?

Are this [1] and this [2] no longer happening?

[1] https://wiki.eclipse.org/Mylyn/Restructuring/Top-Level-Rename_2015
[2] https://wiki.eclipse.org/Mylyn/Restructuring/2015

I?m not particularly fussed where it goes as long as it benefits us.

If you?re suggesting that it should be merged with another project, then I disagree. TeXlipse is already mature and has a good user base, and I think it would be a retrograde step to have it lose that identity. I see this as an opportunity to ensure that it continues to be supported and provide opportunities for development and enhancement in the future.

If you do it in several different projects none of them may end up with a critical mass (well maybe Asciidoc, it's fairly popular and you see many posts and articles saying they moved from LaTex to it)
