Re: [science-iwg] Science TLP Project Management Committee

Hi Christopher,

The steering committee agreed that all the project leads should be in the PMC. So you’re both welcome :-)

Best regards,
Torkild

Erwin and I are the project leads for Triquetrum.  We met via Google Hangout today and the topic of membership in the Eclipse Science Project Management Committee (PMC) came up.  At the time of the call, we though one person from each of the project leads was requested to join, but a more careful reading indicates that the all of the project leads are eligible.

If only one project lead from each project is required, then Erwin and I nominated each other and it was decided that I would be the project lead for Triquetrum to join the Eclipse Science PMC.

However, I have a slight preference to have all of the project leads in the PMC, but I yield to anyone with a stronger opinion.

I'm assuming that the project lead(s) for each project can designate their project lead(s) for the PMC in a manner in which they see fit and that there are no requirements to hold a convention etc. :-)

Dear Torkild, Everyone

+1, I feel this is a good plan. For what that's worth.

Kind regards,

Hi all,

As the “Eclipse Science” top level project charter[1] was accepted by our vote[2], the steering committee has decided to continue with the process of setting up the TLP. As the first step we need to agree on a project management committee (PMC)[3].

The steering committee proposes that each of the projects[4] within the top level project designate their project lead(s) to serve in the PMC along with two of the more experienced Eclipse committers within the SWG; Greg Watson of ORNL and Torkild U. Resheim of Itema. Greg is a long time committer and project lead on the PTP[5] project so the steering committee would like him to serve as the PMC lead. Torkild is a committer on Mylyn Builds, Mylyn Docs and Orbit for the past six to three years.

Unless there are any objections the steering committee would like to continue with this plan.

Best regards,
Torkild
