Thanks to all those who contributed to the article. There has been lots of interest in it, and I thought I'd share this comment from Eclipse's facebook page (where the link was shared https://www.facebook.com/eclipse.org)

"Eclipse RCP is a great platform. People who use it to develop their own workbench get a lot of features (of Eclipse IDE) for free. I know that from my own experience. The ones (in the article) who chose Eclipse RCP are smart guys."
